Behind the stories

Ancient history. Human stories.

Christianity Origins makes cinematic documentaries and Shorts about the history of the Christian faith, from its roots to the world it helped shape.

How the faith began,
told like a movie.

We begin with the Old Testament world: Abraham, Moses, David, and the prophets. We follow the life of Jesus, the apostles, the early church, the martyrs, and the spread of the faith across the Roman Empire.

These are stories of people making decisions without knowing what comes next. Our films bring their world close enough to imagine. Our articles give you room to read, pause, and follow the sources.

How we tell
the story.

We start with the texts. A story is shaped around biblical accounts and ancient historical writing, with the relevant passages listed on its video page. We distinguish what a source says from later tradition, and flag dates or details that remain uncertain.

The script becomes a sequence of cinematic reconstructions, narration, music, and editing. Each documentary is accompanied by an article, chapter timestamps, quick facts, and reading links.

Visual detail helps tell the story; it is not archaeological evidence. Reconstructed rooms, clothing, faces, and landscapes are interpretations rather than documented portraits of the past.

Our commitment
to accuracy.

Every story is based on the Bible and ancient historical sources, which we list on each video page so you can explore the accounts for yourself.

Careful storytelling includes being willing to correct mistakes. If you spot a factual error, a missing qualification, or a source we should consider, please get in touch.
