Christianity’s Parent

Christianity is an offshoot of Judaism, plain and simple. Without Judaism, there would be no Christianity nor Islam. Judaism and Islam share the Abrahamic tradition at their inception. Therefore, we will explore briefly some of the important facts of Judaism as they apply to Christianity.

The writings of Judaism known as the Tanakh were the source for what would become the Old Testament of the Bible. These writings are one of the most important contributions to Christianity’s origins, as the authors of the New Testament and other 1st century writers used these stories to blend into their own. We will explore the period from 600 BCE through today to see how the Christian religion started and evolved through time to become such an influence in the 21st century.

As we get new resource pages online, we will post summaries of the resources available.
